31. Letter, postmarked 24-JAN-1847, Northampton, written by J. P. Chown to his sister Sarah Ann Chown. The outside of the letter also contains postmarks from Luton and Kingsthorpe but without legible dates. Currently only available as a first-generation photocopy, including a note about the letter written by Annie C. Johnson. Original was provided by Alice Eleanor “Elsie” Shakeshaft (nee Johnson) but its present location is uncertain; it may have been returned to Elsie and subsequently donated to an archive.

This is seven pages of handwritten notes by some family member in England. I believe I acquired this from Elsie Shakeshaft but I don't think she wrote this. Perhaps other handwritting samples will turn up that can be matched to this document. Maybe it was Annie C. Johnson.
